** Reboot was succesfull and Avast now opens and is working. After enabling the Unified Write Filter (UWF) on a Windows 10 version 1803 system with Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) installed, the SEP client show as disabled and/or malfunctioning once the system has been restarted. Have run another repair, posting this before rebooting in case BSOD's again!

Tried to open Avast and the same UI error has returned. Avast interface was then working as expected.Ī subsequent reboot after updating the audio drivers and avast has failed again although Windows does load. I ran the avast installer with intention of removing Avast but did a repair instead and then rebooted successfully. Clicking the "Restart Service" button does not work. In cooperation with Microsoft we have identified an element of the latest Windupdate that is incompatible with the Avast Behavior Shield, causing the aforementioned update to fail in.

I tried to open Avast but the "UI failed to load. Windows Update downloaded and installed the update this afternoon.Ī reboot after the update completed (without any apparent issue) rsulted in BSOD.ĭRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL for aswStm.sys.īooted into safe mode and after searching for the file on the disk identified this as an Avast driver. I have same issue with Avast/1803 update.
